This strong record of industry collaboration and world-class research in fields such as Biomedicine, Biomaterials, Renewable Energy, Internet Technologies and Software Development support the national focus on innovation, and technology commercialisation for economic growth and development.
The objective of the NUI Galway - UL Strategic Alliance is to better support the social and economic development of our wider region by combining the strengths of the two universities so as to increase the quantity and quality of our collaborative research and teaching, to further develop industrial, business and other partnerships, to ensure the most effective use of our combined resources, and to enhance the international standing of both universities. The NUI Galway-UL Technology Transfer and Industry Outreach Alliance Portal enables established and start-up companies to access the expertise, intellectual property, R&D capability and enterprise incubation facilities across both NUI Galway and the University of Limerick.
The Technology Transfer Offices in NUI Galway and the University of Limerick are responsible for the implementation of their respective intellectual property policies and for the provision of advice on the identification, protection and exploitation of this IP. These offices are staffed with industry experienced personnel who are keen to enable industry-academic collaboration and research commercialisation and can provide you with the necessary links, expertise, facilities, R&D outreach initiatives and commercial opportunities available across both universities.
